*Tonight’s event canceled due to heat and air quality; stay tuned for possible rescheduling*
Whether you are new to kitchen gardening or an “old hand”, join us in the Organic Demonstration Garden at Northwest Park for FREE tips, diagnoses and recommendations for your backyard garden! Since 2017, Hartford and Tolland County Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners have provided self-guided learning about growing herbs, vegetables and perennial food crops. We use organic methods, including the principles of Integrated Pest Management: prevent, watch, treat!
This year’s theme is practical: Feeding Your Family and Community In Uncertain Times. We will focus on sturdy, nutritious crops that grow and preserve well!
We will talk about insect pests, the life cycle of garlic, watering during heat and drought, and the wide range of backyard berries! Learn with us; enjoy seasonal refreshments (always a highlight) and take home free seedlings or cuttings!
No rain date – heavy rain/storm will cancel – monthly events thru September!
Northwest Park is located at 145 Lang Road in Windsor; the Organic Garden is found a short distance down the dirt road that passes between the Animal Barn and the large animal pastures – look for signs!
