Whether you are new to kitchen gardening or an “old hand”, join us in the Organic Demonstration Garden at Northwest Park for FREE tips, diagnoses and recommendations! Since 2017, Hartford and Tolland County Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners have provided self-guided learning about growing herbs, vegetables and fruits. Come see what we have in our beds, share your garden stories and leave with new ideas! We use organic methods, based on the principles of Integrated Pest Management, from prevention to treatment.
This month, it’s all about interlopers! Just as our crops start to show great promise of the harvests ahead, insects, critters, weeds and even diseases appear to challenge our hard work. Do we have to worry about all of it? What can we do? Learn with us; sample some of our harvest; help build some funky scarecrows!
Plenty of space in our large garden, but masks welcome for personal comfort.
No rain date – heavy rain/storm will cancel – monthly events thru September!
Northwest Park is located at 145 Lang Road in Windsor; the Organic Garden is found a short distance down the dirt road that passes between the Animal Barn and the large animal pastures – look for signs!
